automated access to IBM Z Security Portal HOLDDATA needed

The current process for accessing z/OS security patch information requires browser based access to ResourceLink. We need an automated way to download the Security (Sec/Int=Y) HOLDDATA from the IBM Z Security Portal similar to as we already have for the “normal” enhanced HOLDDATA available and used today.

The best choice would be to have the security HOLDDATA automatically combined with the “normal” enhanced HOLDDATA, so that one download action contains both sources of enhanced HOLDDATA.

The solution should make it possible to retrieve the combined enhanced HOLDDATA directly from the z/OS system using provided tooling or techniques used today, such as FTP.

Would it not be easy to just tag any SECINT PTF's with HIPER? That way we can avoid the need to access Resourcelink to get the assign/holddata files manually and a RECOMMENDED will pull them all down. An APPLY SOURCEID(HIPER) can be then used to ensure we get all the hiper/secints. If a site really needs to see which fixes are SECINTs that can always access the portal, download and receive at their leisure. Tagging a SECINT as HIPER  in the general service stream will also hide that fact that it is a SECINT from general users who do not have access to the detailed info in the portal download files.

We are in the process of building a more automated receive/applycheck/apply/deploy of outstanding HIPERS (and preferably SECINTs) and the additional drag of manual interaction to get the files downloaded from the portal slows it all down markedly.
