ftp rdw only works one way

IBM's z/OS "ftp" program has an "RDW" option. When ftping a VB file in binary mode from mainframe to PC, it will include RDWs in the datastream on the PC (see "use case" for example program). This is an excellent feature. Unfortunately, there does not appear to be any way to reverse this process. ie if I have a file with RDW on the PC, I cannot transmit this to a VB dataset on the mainframe. Could you please enhance "ftp" to include this feature.
