Make Abends in CBRUXSAE (OAM security exit) visible

As OAM is a crucial product component at our site we use a SITE developed version of OAM security exit CBRUXSAE.

There could be circumstances, where this code can abend. Unfortunately the very only result is, that the requestor gets an unsuccessful return-code. From the system perspective, this abend takes place completely unseen! Consequently the security-exit is disabled and remains so, causing an outage of every OAM-request (!) until it is reactivated manually via LIBRARY command.

Such an abend could occur somewhere in a stored procedure or in a CICS-program etc. and can impact every other OAM-user in the whole system. Unfortunately at IBM this is not seen as a defect.

It is crucial for troubleshooting, that an abend in such a central and essential exit like CBRUXSAE is made visible to operations.

Therefore there should at least a detailed message been written to the system log about this abend and that the exit is now disabled.

IBM considers this to be a valid requirement, but compared against the other requirements that OAM has, is not likely to be given high enough priority to be placed into the product plan. If this requirement is still of value to you, please open a new requirement.

IBM agrees that there is value in this requirement and will consider it as a candidate in a future release.
