Post your ideas
  1. Post an idea.

  2. Get feedback from the IBM team and other customers to refine your idea.

Add an HTML file to the z/OS 3.1 PDF download similar to 1.READ_ME_FIRST_zOS_V2R5_TOC.htm

The HTM file provided in prior releases when downloading a collection of the z/OS publications was extremely useful. Please provide one for the z/OS 3.1 publications download. Without it the usability of the download collection is significantly reduced.

?Thank you all again for your patience. The HTML TOC file is now a part of the PDX collection. For those who have already downloaded the PDX collection if you re-download it you will now see the HTML TOC file.
Based on the latest feedback we received below about IBM Offline Docs we have opened up a ticket with the IBM Docs Infrastructure team and are working with them to ensure that the download for IBM Offline Docs shows up for 3.1.?

There is no download noted for 3.1 that I can see for the offline app -besides I'd rather use my own pdf viewer.

Thank you all for your prompt feedback. The z/OS content team is aware of the situation and is working on creating the HTML TOC file to support the PDX collection.
IBM Documentation also offers IBM Offline Docs, which is IBM’s strategic offline content platform. If you are using IBM Offline Docs and navigate to the PDF Publications page it should also perform the same offline PDF TOC function that you are looking for while using Offline Docs: https://www.ibm.com/docs/en/zos/3.1.0?topic=SSLTBW_3.1.0/com.ibm.zos.v3r1.pdf/allpubs.htm. For more information on using Offline Docs please check out this Hot Topics article: https://zos-hot-topics.com/2023/zos-release-pdfs-ibm-documentation/.

This is essential to making the ZOS 3.1 documentation most usable and consumable.

I am just adding my vote. The index.html must be part of the download.

Usable documentation shouldn't really be an "idea", this should be considered a defect.

It would also be very nice if this index file showed the publications in title order instead of PDF file name order.

It would also be VERY NICE if the location to download the collection were more obvious.
