That function doesn't affect how z/OSMF interacts with AT-TLS. The the way that function works is that z/OSMF uses the parameters you provide to build a batch job to use the z/OS FTP client to do the transfer (instead of using a built-in java client like Network Configuration Assistant currently does). Then you can use AT-TLS with the z/OS FTP client. Given that, does it still meet your requirements?
So I looked at it, it does seem that would work for what we need. Question, with the FTPDATA setting does that mean we could use ATTLS with zOSMF?
I will look at this and have to get back to you.
Just checking back to see if you've had a chance to look at this Tom. Also, wanted to clarify that the FTP servers function in z/OSMF does support FTP or SFTP.
Tom, if we implement this we would exploit the FTP Servers function that comes with z/OSMF. This allows you to specify the profile and method to be used for FTP, and then z/OSMF builds JCL to perform the requested FTP operation using the z/OS FTP client. We would have to update the CA to exploit this function, today it uses native Java FTP methods.
Can you look at this function and see if it allows you to specify what you need? (look in the navigation pane under "z/OSMF settings.")
