This is the public portal for all IBM Z Hardware and Operating System related offerings. To view all of your ideas submitted to IBM, create and manage groups of Ideas, or create an idea explicitly set to be either visible by all (public) or visible only to you and IBM (private), use the IBM Unified Ideas Portal (https://ideas.ibm.com).
We invite you to shape the future of IBM, including product roadmaps, by submitting ideas that matter to you the most. Here's how it works:
Start by searching and reviewing ideas and requests to enhance a product or service. Take a look at ideas others have posted, and add a comment, vote, or subscribe to updates on them if they matter to you. If you can't find what you are looking for,
Post an idea.
Get feedback from the IBM team and other customers to refine your idea.
Follow the idea through the IBM Ideas process.

Today z/os FTPS client gets the public Cert (CA) from the FTPS server when it connects. If the CA is not in the RACF database (or keyring) it rejects the connection with an appropriate error message.
Other platforms and SSL products, such as https have an option for the user to accept this CA when the connection is in progress and even add it to the trusted CA file. CFI Linux command center has a special command to pull the CA from the server, and load it into its Cert files.
IBM on z/os only provides a Cert trace with will show the CA in a hex trace format, which is not usable to reconstruct the CERT.
Enhancement Request:
Provide an FTPS client function or special (GETCERT) TSO command to pull the public CA from an FTPS remote server then format and save the Cert in a format acceptable to load into RACF.
