This is the public portal for all IBM Z Hardware and Operating System related offerings. To view all of your ideas submitted to IBM, create and manage groups of Ideas, or create an idea explicitly set to be either visible by all (public) or visible only to you and IBM (private), use the IBM Unified Ideas Portal (https://ideas.ibm.com).
We invite you to shape the future of IBM, including product roadmaps, by submitting ideas that matter to you the most. Here's how it works:
Start by searching and reviewing ideas and requests to enhance a product or service. Take a look at ideas others have posted, and add a comment, vote, or subscribe to updates on them if they matter to you. If you can't find what you are looking for,
Post an idea.
Get feedback from the IBM team and other customers to refine your idea.
Follow the idea through the IBM Ideas process.

This pertains to case TS016566172. We (IBM TEL) have seen use cases for IMS API Requester using COBOL where the LE prevents z/OS connect from working due to POSIX requirements and restrictions. POSIX(ON) in IMS can cause other non-z/OS Connect calls to fail which requires significant work arounds, synchronous ICAL calls, or complete application redesigns to use z/OS Connect Outbound.
Idea to review the restrictions and determine if they can be resolved without the use of significant client work arounds. Can the restriction be resolved in IMS, COBOL, zCEE or a combination of all three? If not, idea to provide detailed diagrams of use cases in zCEE documentation and how to mitigate the restriction using calls and tools available like ICAL, nested enclaves, runtime settings, etc. Currently, the client has to jump to multiple links and try and attempt to determine which solution fits their need.
