Change key run-time services routines Language Environment to enable time virtualization software

Time virtualization software like ASG Technologies ValidDate, IBM HourGlass and Compuware Xpediter/Xchange must front-end the operating system Time Service routines and Language Environment runtime to allow users to test applications with future dates (i.e. Month-End, Quarter-End and Year-End). Because user applications written in High-Level Languages depend on native language intrinsic functions and Language Environment callable Date/Time services, hooks must be inserted into key time service routines in Language Environment runtime to allow for testing with Virtual Times. The time virtualization software hooks require modifying Language Environment programs CEEEV003, CEEPLPKA, CELHV003 and CELQLIB replacing the STCK/STCKE instructions with code to drive operating system Time Service routine calls to allow for testing with Virtual Times. This approach assumes that the modules will not be altered over time which is problematic at best.

The Language Environment routines hooked by time virtualization software is as follows: CEEPLPKA:CEEYGMT,CEEEV003:@@TOD, CEEEV003:@@TODMVS, CEEEV003 EDCTZNMVCELHV003:@@TOD, CELHV003:@@TODMVS, CELHV003:EDCTZNMV, CELQLIB:@@TOD, CELQLIB:@@TODMVS, CELQLIB:@@TODM64,CELQLIB:EDCTZNMV
