Have the functionality (PS to PSE) added to the DSS product.

We are moving data using ADRDSSU from legacy systems without any advanced dataset functionality to systems that support EAVS and hardware compression. The inability to replace PSE datasets with PS datasets is causing the restore jobs to finish CC 8 and some datasets to fail restore.

    Have you opened a case with IBM? Perhaps, I am missing something or just don't have enough information, but it appears the failure to RESTORE existing target datasets can be overcome with the use of the REPLACE parameter.

    z/OS DFSMSdss Storage Administration
    "To use a preallocated data set, you must specify the REPLACE or
    REPLACEUNCONDITIONAL keyword. If the REPLACE keyword is specified, the
    preallocated target data set name must be identical to the source data set name."
