DSLIST, line cmd I creates enq which could contention and outages.

In ISPF 3.4, the line command "I" when used for VSAM List catalog information creates an enqueue on the dataset which is released when the user has finished examining the output.

In the case in the attached file, this was a SYS1.MANx VSAM dataset.
After a while the SHR enq caused SMF dump processing to stall.

This lead to a loss of SMF data and possible system problems.

Could the enqueue on the VSAM dataset be released when the user browses dataset listing thus preventing an enqueue and possible contention with SMF processing.

    As soon as the information panel is displayed, the ENQ should be released. If it's being held while the user is looking at the panel, that's unacceptable. This should have been APARed instead of forcing it to be addressed as an enhancement, especially given that it impacted SMF.
