This is the public portal for all IBM Z Hardware and Operating System related offerings. To view all of your ideas submitted to IBM, create and manage groups of Ideas, or create an idea explicitly set to be either visible by all (public) or visible only to you and IBM (private), use the IBM Unified Ideas Portal (https://ideas.ibm.com).
We invite you to shape the future of IBM, including product roadmaps, by submitting ideas that matter to you the most. Here's how it works:
Start by searching and reviewing ideas and requests to enhance a product or service. Take a look at ideas others have posted, and add a comment, vote, or subscribe to updates on them if they matter to you. If you can't find what you are looking for,
Post an idea.
Get feedback from the IBM team and other customers to refine your idea.

Since IBM itself endorses that mainframe too is vulnerable to hacking, and setting up various defences is more crucial than ever, we are looking for additional ways to properly protect our mainframe environment from potential misuse of mainframe admin permissions in general and RACF special permissions in particular.
Therefore, we would like to introduce a dual control mechanism (4-eyes principle) with regard to the execution of RACF (special) cmds.
And by extension, we are looking for something similar for running critical z/OS cmds in general.
However, RACF does not currently support this important principle in any way, nor are there any other IBM tools available that provide this kind of functionality.
The fact that, in a Cybervault context, the dual control set-up of the safeguarded copy environment is controlled via RACF profiles further increases the need for a dual control mechanism for RACF specials. Without this dual control, a single RACF special could sabotage the entire Cybervault solution.

Dual (or more) control of RACF commands is supported in zSecure, with the CKGRACF ASK/REQUEST commands. However it would be nice to have this as a general facility for RACF and z/OS commands.
