DFSMSdfp Use RACF to protect and control the use of DFSMSdfp dataclass

Datasets are allocated with different characteristics. To prevent allocation of dataset with wrong characteristics we protect certain dataclasses against common use. We basically only control it by using the read-only variables &GROUP and &USER in the ACS routine dataclass member. The disadvantage by doing it in the ACS routine is when groups and users are changed in RACF. The RACF administrators has no knowledge about the restriction in the ACS routine. When changes are done in RACF it can affect allocation of dataset for users and batch jobs. To be able to eliminate the access list in the ACS routine we can see a need for a new RACF class - DATACLAS - just like the two classes that already exists - MGMTCLAS and STORCLAS.

Have you looked at what the below variables might offer? These would require RACF changes but that might be a one off.

&DEF_DATACLAS The data class name associated with the resource owner of the data set (set only if RACF is installed and ACSDEFAULTS is YES in IGDSMSxx).

&DSOWNER The name of the user or group that owns the data set (set only if RACF is installed).
