Console MVS command to issue PING

When need a compatible command to issue a PING to a network resource and it can be done on the tso option 6. We need to have it able to do on the MVS Console. We had problem where tso was down and needed to ping a network resource from the mvs lpar to a endpoint. We need this important command in the MVS Console to do ping origination. Please see if we can create command similar to command: Ping xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx or Ping DNSname.

    You can already accomplish this using the EZACMD command provided by Communications Server. See the following link for the documentation:

    EZACMD allows you to issue a variety of TCP/IP commands from the console.

    You should be able to create a started task that does the ping.
