Hello,
our requirement are not satisfied.
We need the FTP to the external HMC because a FTP connect outside our HMC Mainframe network is not allowed (security reasons).
The current solution is bad because if one SE had a defect and affects the other SE (both SE are on the same rack and one under the other) we lose both SE and access to the system.
Increase the severity to "Medium".
Last week we had already an broken HDD in one SE ...

Hopefully this satisfies your requirement, if not please provide more details. For z13 that the Backup of the Primary SE is sent to Primary/Alternate SE HDDs or additionally to an FTP location. This change eliminates the need for the USB for the SE, and there have been size issues with the amount of backup data fitting on the USB. We felt that the two SE HDD backup approach is more than adequate. If someone wants to do something like rotate backup versions per backup, then they should additionally use FTP.
