DFSMShsm needs to have a cloud account defined to DS8000 to allow Transparent Cloud Tiering functionality. When the DS8000 machine is using a remote authentication policy, the mkuser command is disabled.
Strict security policies in place disallow Storage Administrators to enter passwords for application IDs, and Window Security Adminstrators do not have z/OS userids to enter the password for the SETSYS CLOUD / CCREDS command response.
This enhancement would allow DFSMShsm/DS8000 to authenticate an application ID clouduser in LDAP without a password stored.

IBM plans to create the ability for security administrators to solely manage cloud storage passwords required for DFSMS functionality, without requiring those passwords to be specifically specified to DFSMS components. For example, replace the need to specify the password to HSM via a SETSYS and the need to specify the password to DSS via JCL.
