z/OS Software Management REST API Should Support Deployment of a Portable Software Instance

We drive installation of our products from z/OSMF workflows. Those workflows have automated steps to add a Portable Software Instance to z/OSMF Software Management, but the customer must then a) leave the z/OSMF Workflows task b) manually deploy the Portable Software Instance using the z/OSMF Software Management task c) return to the Workflows task to confirm the deployment is complete and then d) proceed with the remainder of the installation. Not only is this inconvenient for the customer, but it also exposes us to the possibility the customer will "shoot themselves in the foot" by making customization choices during deployment that our software does not support -- such as the use of arbitrary data set names that do not conform to our conventions. We need full external control over how the Portable Software Instance is deployed. The only reasonable way is for the Software Management REST API to support deploying a Portable Software Instance. Note: The REST API already supports deployment of Software Instances, just not portable ones... The choices offered in the "Ideas" interface for "Needed by" are unrealistic: yesterday, week, month, quarter. The sooner, the better. But anything needed "yesterday" should probably be an APAR. LOL
