This is the public portal for all IBM Z Hardware and Operating System related offerings. To view all of your ideas submitted to IBM, create and manage groups of Ideas, or create an idea explicitly set to be either visible by all (public) or visible only to you and IBM (private), use the IBM Unified Ideas Portal (https://ideas.ibm.com).
We invite you to shape the future of IBM, including product roadmaps, by submitting ideas that matter to you the most. Here's how it works:

I'm somewhat indifferent in how it's implemented. When something that normally works, like mounting or deleting a ZFS file system fails, the returned information should be concise and accurate on what condition is causing the error to occur.
Adding a new failing reason code if the zFS is the target of a migration would need to be handled by zFS.
Display enhancements will depend on what is desired. Currently, D OMVS,F does show that a file system is MIRRORING. Specifically, this would be displayed for the source file system. Given this output, you could use the bpxwmigf command to display the status of the migration. D OMVS,F enhancements, if desired, would be a z/OS UNIX request. Are you only interested in knowing if the swap is pending? However, after reviewing the case for this Idea, it seems that potentially things would have been clearer if the zfsadm fsinfo command had stated that the file system was the target of a migration. If that is preferable then we could just have one Idea for zFS.
Moving the idea to USS category, since BPXWMIGF utility is owned by USS.
