D ICEOPT

Proposal to create a "D ICEOPT" command.

Recently we discovered that some obsolete/undocumented options were preventing the ICETPEX from being invoked. There was another LPAR in the plex which did NOT have these undocumented options and the ICETPEX call worked as designed.

The problem diagnosis lead us through numerous slips, traces etc. Even after we identified the issue it was difficult to display the ICEOPT active on the LPAR.

We were provided the below batch job to list the sort options -

//DEFAULTS JOB
//SHOWDEF EXEC PGM=ICETOOL
//TOOLMSG DD SYSOUT=A
//DFSMSG DD SYSOUT=A
//LIST1 DD SYSOUT=A
//TOOLIN DD *
DEFAULTS LIST(LIST1)

Is there a way to convert the above job to a "D ICEOPT" command?

Here are the benefits of such a command -

1. This would provide the MVS sysprog with a helpful tool to list the ICEOPTS active on the LPAR.

2. Easy command for before and after compare if START ICEOPT was issued after the last IPL.

3. Convenient comparison between LPARs
