System Logger offload monitoring should create a diagnostic dump upon detection of an offload delay.

System Logger offload monitoring provides notification of delays in log stream offload processing with the goal of allowing an installation to take action to prevent log streams filling to capacity, which would result in the failure of IXGWRITE requests. However, in many cases, investigative action needs to be completed by an installation while the offload delay is occurring in order to identify the root cause of the delay. Often times, without this active diagnosis during the problem time frame, it is impossible to determine the root cause of the delay after the problem has resolved based upon analysis of historical information, such as SYSLOG and LOGREC. An automatically generated dump captured by offload monitoring when the delay is first detected will provide invaluable diagnostic detail for root cause investigation. This FFDC (first failure data capture) enhancement will also aid in the prevention of future problems if the cause of the initial occurrence can be understood and addressed without the need to set a diagnostic SLIP and await recreate.
