Message for when Join does not occur due to Moninterface issue

We had an issue where we were doing some maintenance on our Sandbox system where we had MONINTERFACE coded. The engineer dynamically deleted the interfaces and re added them, minus the Moninterface.

When we realized that we weren’t in the TCPPLEX anymore we then tried to do a join. The join command accepted but did not seem to do anything.

EZZ8269I TCPIP IS NOT A MEMBER OF A SYSPLEX GROUP

EZZ0060I PROCESSING COMMAND: VARY TCPIP,,SYSPLEX,JOIN

EZD1178I THE VARY TCPIP,,SYSPLEX,JOINGROUP COMMAND WAS ACCEPTED

At this point we thought there was an issue with the stack; after about 40 minutes, and almost ipling the system, we noticed the coding error in the devices. Once we added the MONINTERFACE back and redefined the osas we see that everything came back ok.

Enhancement:

We would want IBM when you attempt a join and the conditions are not correct a message is produced stating why the Join did not work in the form or a Reason Code that is in the Message Guide
