RSF with a private line or IP-VPN

Current RSF requires connection to the open Internet.
However, not a few zSystems customers refuse to accept internet connection.
One of the typical reasons of refusal is because they think open internet connection causes risk of exposing internal information.
Those customers prohibit internet connection in their security policy.
So our customer requests the addition of a function that connects the system of the destination of the RSF and the HMC in the customer data center with a private line or IP-VPN.

Current System: 2965-L10 x2

Thanks for your input. We do not see any significant security benefit by establishing a VPN with IBM over our standard methods of transmitting data. Our current communications methods are one-way, from the customer's machine to IBM. VPN connections are two way, allowing IBM to access the customer's network. Our HTTPS connections are TLS 1.2, using high levels of encryption. We do not believe this enhancement would improve security. Please let us know if you have any additional questions.
