Hello,
we're user of OAM and HSM for many years. We also have 16 VTS clusters in use.
Of course, we also use the logical worm for our tapes.
We'd like to have a more effective way (as HSM has) to recycle OAM tapes.
With HSM we use HSEND recy ex all pe(2) - recycle and execute (all type of tapes) <=2% usage
Unfortunatelly, with OAM there is nothing similar that works with logical worm tapes(see the IBM case).
Right now, we have to select all tapes from cbroam.tapevol, find out the tape usage and then generate MOVEVOL with DELETE commands.
Please review the OAM RECYCLE function and help the customers with an effective and simple way (as HSM) to recycle the tapes, whether worm or not.
Thank you in advance!!!
Whatever information you need regarding our tests, please let me know :-)
